The most important aim of our early childhood program is to encourage every child to become an enthusiastic learner, to be an active and creative explorer, to try out their own ideas and to think their own thoughts.

Our students will learn in a specially designed environment which is developmentally appropriate and encourages exploration.  Each child learns at their own pace guided by our expert early years’ teachers who instil good habits and attitudes that will set them up for life. Our curriculum outlines specific goals within each of the core areas:

Social

To help children to feel comfortable in school, trust their new environment, make friends and feel that they are part of a group.

Emotional

To help children to experience pride and confidence, develop independence and self-control, and have a positive attitude towards life.

Cognitive

To help children to become confident learners by letting them try out their ideas, and experience success, and by helping them to acquire learning skills such as the ability to solve problems, ask questions and use words to describe their ideas, observations and feelings.

Physical

To help children to increase their large and small muscle skills and to feel confident about what their bodies can do.

Language and Literacy

To help children to hear and discriminate sounds of language, to interpret oral direction and then actively participate in conversation.  To encourage children to actively listen to stories and instil the enjoyment of books.
